General

All ATC activities are focused on R&D and innovation in five fields of technology. For each technology field a number of activities is organized and services are provided by a team of motivated and qualified full-time and part-time employees. They all have a solid technology or business background with years of experience in the automotive sector.

KPMG’s Global Automotive Executive Survey

Now in its twelve consecutive year, KPMG’s Global Automotive Executive Survey explores the current state and future prospects for the automotive industry worldwide. This year’s survey, Creating a Future Roadmap for the Automotive Industry, polled 200 global executives across Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Tier 1, 2 and 3 suppliers, and dealers on key industry issues over the next five to 10 years, including:

Consumer behaviors and the factors influencing consumer purchase decisions
Financing and investments to drive growth and profitability
Powertrain innovations and the future of the automotive value chain
Emerging markets and the role they play in the global automotive footprint

The survey suggests that big changes are ahead, for example:

Urban planning and vehicle purpose to dictate vehicle design
New technologies that enhance safety set to become a key differentiator
Alliances viewed as the solution to the changing business model challenge
Overcapacity is a continuing concern in mature and emerging markets – could it drive new mobility solutions?

Automotive Magazine ProMotive – October 2011

For the professional, interested in technological trends and developments within the national and international automotive industry, the Automotive Technology Centre issues the automotive magazine ProMotive. Up to 4 times a year, the employees of Partners and Members of ATC will automatically receive the latest issue of this magazine. Professionals who are working at organizations that are not Partner or Member of ATC can also get a subscription for the magazine. The additional costs for mailing the magazine are € 24,95 (incl. VAT) per year.

DAF Vlaanderen produceert 2.000.000ste as

Bij DAF Vlaanderen in het Belgische Westerlo (Oevel) kwam donderdag 1 december 2011 de 2.000.000-ste as van de band. “Een prachtige mijlpaal in de geschiedenis van DAF’s assen- en cabinefabriek”, aldus Harrie Schippers, president-directeur van DAF Trucks N.V.
