Het ATC organiseert in oktober 2010 voor de vierde keer de Design On Wheels show op de Dutch Design Week (DDW). De show is te zien in het Klokgebouw op Strijp-S; het centrum van de DDW.

Dit jaar is het thema "Design for electric driving".

 

 

Design On Wheels Show

The ATC Design On Wheels Show is a unique automotive exhibition that is fully dedicated to design for electric driving.
When it comes to design this leading theme in automotive development embodies all kind of sustainability elements. It also brings along new technology that changes the architecture of the car giving designers new options to work with and more freedom in design. Design On Wheels will show a range of concepts for electric driving from very small to big and powerful:
-    Qugo from Silvestris
-    Aerorider
-    Peugeot BB1
-    Citroën Revolte
-    Renault ZOE E.V.
-    Electric Saker Sportscar

Design Studios and industry will present their results of new electric drive concepts they made in the ATC Design project and design students will present their ideas of design & technology for electric driving.

ATC also supports the Move Award of Donna eMobile and Frame: a challenge for design students to win an OEM design internship.

Dutch Design Week

This year the Dutch Design Week (DDW) will take place from October 23 to October 31. It will be the 9th edition. More than 1500 designers from home and abroad will show their work all over the city of Eindhoven. There are nearly 60 different locations housing 290 different events. 115.000 people visited the Dutch Design Week in 2009, including a growing share of international visitors.

The Dutch Design Week gives visitors a kaleidoscopic view of the entire span of design from concept to product in various disciplines ranging from industrial design to applied arts. The participants include established bureaus, high-profile designers, talented newcomers, and recently graduated designers. The Dutch Design Week is the perfect place for designers, companies and public to get new ideas and inspiration.

ATC Design Seminar: Design for Electric Driving

Date: October 27 2010
Location: Dutch Design Week, Strijp-S

International automotive designers will give their view on ‘Design for Electric Driving’ during this ATC Design Seminar on Wednesday October 27. They will give more background information about the concept cars on the Design on Wheels Show also located at Strijp-S during the DDW.

The Revolte is a compact city car that combines the upmost luxury with a touch of fashionable fun. The Revolte concept is very compact, measuring in at 3.68 meters long and features a special three seater cabin design.

Zoe Z.E. Concept is an all-electric, which targets motorists who are looking for a compact and versatile vehicle, capable of meeting their varied day-to-day needs, such as the school or work run, or shopping trips.

Electric Saker Sportscar

Saker wants to prove that you can have a lot of fun on the racetrack with an electric race car. This first built electric Saker is designed and produced in The Netherlands.

HEDAG

A successful entrepreneur from Tilburg (Provence Noord-Brabant) bought this Hedag in 1909. This coach was perfect for silent traveling within the city. It had an electric motor on each front wheel. Around 1910 there were 59 of these electric vehicles in Hamburg, this number grew out to 119 in 1913.

This HEDAG is part of the Louwman collection in Den Haag.
